Recent adaptations of the works of @KelliAgodon @Vanessid – prove multimedia is the future of poetry. Half a million listeners have tuned into my readings across multiple social media platforms in last few months, for the same reason. The Jesus Bus
I’m super thrilled to have a new poem, “The Jesus Bus” in the current wonder-filled issue (23) of the New Ohio Review. It’s such an amazing journal. I hope you’ll check it out if you have not already.
The world drifts like a madness inside you
I’m very happy to have two poems on the myth of Icarus featured at the University of Leicester’s Creative Writing Blog for World Poetry Day! These two poems have never been paired before, as “You Were a Bird; You Are the Sea” was collected in I Ate the Cosmos for Breakfast, while “Stomp the Ground” was written later and appeared in Southern Humanities Review. Happy World Poetry Day, everyone!

My Poem Dressed in a Ball Gown
Read by Nikesh Murali, my recent poem, “Everyone in Me Is a Bird,” (Poets.org) takes on new life. I told him I felt like the poem had shed its daily wear to dress up for the evening. If you’re not following Murali (@_nikeshmurali) on Twitter, you’re missing out. Every week he posts gorgeous readings. His voice is currently my favorite instrument for playing poetry.
I chose this particular poem by the most talented and gorgeous @MelissaStuddard because it is an excellent gateway into her creative universe. She is a poet I look forward to performing more. #spokenpoetry #poetryreading #spokenword #poetry #poem pic.twitter.com/bkyGprJFGj

What they said to think, I thought not
I’m delighted to see my poem “Everyone in Me Is a Bird” featured at the Academy’ of American Poets’ Poem-a-Day today! This poem was inspired by a line from Anne Sexton’s poem “In Celebration of My Uterus.”

The Ocean Decanted Poorly

My Mother Was a Lake Full of Water Lilies
I’m thrilled to have two poems in the Skin Deep issue of Pirene’s Fountain. There are so many poets whose work I admire in this issue, and everything about it is gorgeous!
Katherine Herschler created the deadly Venus Flytrap design with its beautiful blossoms to represent our perceptions
of beauty and self-image.
Pirene’s will donate 20% of proceeds from each book to the Texas Harvey and Puerto Rico hurricane relief funds.
“Family Tree” is one of my poems from the issue:
Democracy, Pigeons, Skylines and Such
The Journal is one of my favorite lit mags, and I’m happy to have a poem in their new issue, along with some stellar company. I think of their aesthetic as the ideal manifestation of Emily Dickinson’s “tell it slant” advice. Here’s a link to The Journal’s website, if you’d like to check it out: http://thejournalmag.org. And here’s a shot of my poem in their current print edition:
